Keep on being unnoticed
Keep on being unnoticed
I so want you to like me. Yes, you, a person I don’t know and will never know. I so want you to think, “wow, she managed to write something I would have wanted to write, if I had found the way to say it.” I want you to admire how I use language, how smart I am. I want to stay in your head at least until the end of the day, or at least until you go to eat.
I so often catch myself, before writing something, realizing that I’m writing because I want to be seen, to be noticed.
In that sense, this blog is the perfect place to teach yourself that most likely, you won’t be noticed. And this will keep happening. You will go unnoticed for most of your life, and there’s nothing terrible about that. That’s how everyone lives.
And even if you are noticed, it won’t be because you wrote something especially witty, something no one else could have come up with. It will be because it just happened that way — it was simply chance.
